Indicators of malignancy
Factors suggesting possible malignancy include:
- a rapidly enlarging nodule
- young patient, especially male
- past exposure of neck region to irradiation, especially in childhood
- irregular nodule
- enlarged regional nodes
- laryngeal nerve involvement
