Colonic polyps may be: (1)
- neoplastic:
- adenomas - single or associated with familial polyposis syndrome
- adenomas - single or associated with familial polyposis syndrome
- hamartomatous:
- juvenile - singly and as a juvenile polyposis syndrome
- Peutz-Jegher's - singly and as part of Peutz-Jegher's syndrome
- hyperplastic
- reactive:
- inflammatory polyps - associated with inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis more than Crohn's disease
- lymphoid
