Xylose
Xylose is a pentose sugar that is widely used by the body as an intemediate in carbohydrate metabolism.
It can be used as a substrate for investigations into:
- gastrointestinal bacterial overgrowth
- absorption of monosaccharides from the gastrointestinal tract
