Serology
Antibody measurements are not indicated routinely.
Specific antibodies to thyroid peroxidase and to thyroglobulin:
- are common in Grave's disease
- are found in up to 15% of normal females and 5% of normal males (1)
TSH receptor antibodies are diagnostic of Graves disease but are not measured routinely.
