Conditions where neutrophils are decreased include:
- marrow aplasia
- marrow infiltration
- viral infections
- tuberculosis
- brucellosis
- kala-azar
- typhoid
- drugs including antimetabolites, sulphonamides, carbimazole and sulphasalazine
- megaloblastic anaemia
- Kostman's syndrome
