Defects of the fibrinolytic system
A variety of defects in the plasmin fibrinolytic system have been implicated in the causation of thrombosis:
- quantitative or qualitative abnormalities of plasminogen
- reduced levels of tissue plasminogen activator
- increased levels of plasminogen activator inhibitors
