Prognostic factors in adults with ALL
Adults with ALL do more poorly than children; possible reasons for this include:
- more severe haematologic toxicity
- chemotherapeutic toxicity to other organs
- increased frequency of unfavourable subtypes e.g.:
- early B-lineage ALL
- early T-lineage ALL
- ALL positive for the Philadelphia chromosome
