- psychosis
- elderly patients
- breast feeding
- cardiovascular, hepatic or renal disease
- recurrent eczema
- avoid abrupt discontinuation of treatment

- epilepsy
- gastric ulceration

- inability to concentrate
- insomnia
- dizziness
- convulsions
- hallucinations
- gastrointestinal disturbances
- skin discolouration
- dry mouth
- peripheral oedema
- leucopenia
