Indications:
- infections due to sensitive Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Surgical prophylaxis.
Cautions include:
- penicillin sensitivity
- pregnancy and breast-feeding
- renal impairment
NB Beware false positive Coomb's test and urinary glucose.
Contra-indications:
- cephalosporin hypersensitivity
- porphyria
Side-effects:
