The bony landmarks of the shoulder can be examined sequentially in the following order:
- suprasternal notch
- sternoclavicular joint
- clavicle
- coracoid process
- acromioclavicular joint
- acromion
- greater tuberosity of humerus
- bicipital groove
- spine of the scapula
- borders of scapula
