Management
Treatment is conservative in the first instance:
- simple analgesia and rest where appropriate
- a heel raise may help
- assure that symptoms usually resolve over 12-18 months
If symptoms persist:
- the tendon should be explored
- a cyst in the tendon should be drained and any defect in the tendon repaired.
