Subcalcaneal bursitis
- this is an uncommon cause of inferior heel pain
- commoner in elderly with new shoes
- ssociated with a tender swelling under the calcaneum and is not aggravated by dorsiflexing the toes
- aspiration and injection are likely to be effective treatment
