Contraindications include:

  • pregnancy:
    • the drug has abortifacient properties
  • lactation:
    • use is discouraged because of conceivable adverse reactions in the infant
    • there is no data on excretion of the drug in human milk

Note - the efficacy and safety in children under 18 years has not been established.
