Aetiology
Possible cause of dystonia include:
- often idiopathic
- genetic basis
- as a result of cerebral disease:
- hypoxia
- Wilson's disease
- encephalitis lethargica
- drugs, e.g. L dopa, phenothiazines, metoclopramide, neuroleptics - usually acute onset
