Suprascapular nerve lesion

The suprascapular nerve supplies the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles. It may be injured by prolonged carrying of heavy objects, as part of a brachial neuritis or in diabetes mellitus.

There is weakness of abduction of the arm - supraspinatus deficit - and of external rotation - infraspinatus.
