  • fear of being the centre of attention
  • fear of humiliation in public
  • avoidance of feared situations
  • anxiety experience in the feared situation or when anticipating the situation
  • one of the following should be present during an anxiety-provoking situation:
    • blushing
    • shaking
    • fear
    • vomiting
    • fear of micturition or defecation
  • emotional distress
