Primary prevention of PTSD

PTSD may be prevented by preparing individuals for expected traumatic events. The envisaged events are discussed and relevant education is provided.

Prior exposure to elements of a traumatic event may be helpful, for example body handlers should see human corpses before exposure on a battlefield. (1)
