Section 8 (Mental Health Act)
Section 8 defines the authority of the guardian, as empowered under Section 7 of the Act. These are:
- being able to require the patient to live at a specified place
- being able to require the patient to attend places for treatment, occupation, training or education
- being able to ensure that any specified person, usually a doctor or social worker, can see the patient at home
