Skin manifestations of PAN
The skin is involved in PAN in 20-50% of cases.
The dermatological manifestations of PAN include:
- subcutaneous nodules
- skin necrosis
- livedo reticularis
- erythema multiforme
- erythema nodosum
- splinter haemorrhages
A relatively benign variant of PAN primarily involves the skin leaving the viscera unaffected. This "livedo with nodules" is treated in the same manner as true PAN with a better prognosis.
