Malignant tubulo-interstitial nephritis

Non-renal malignant disease may cause tubulo-interstitial nephritis by several means:

  • hypercalcaemia and hyperuricaemia damage the kidney
  • treatment e.g. chemo- and radio- therapy

Multiple myeloma is a malignant disease which commonly causes renal damage.
