The therapeutic indications for bronchoscopy include:
- removal of secretions and mucus plugs:
- often used in ITU
- pneumonic lobar collapse
- allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis
- removal of foreign bodies
- stent insertion in benign airways disease:
- for example in relapsing polychondritis
