Possible clinical features of tonsillar enlargement are due to the enlarged tonsils making breathing and eating difficult. The child may mouth breathe, find it difficult to breath at rest, and there might be sleep apnoea. Right heart failure may be a complication of enlarged tonsils and adenoids.
