Henoch Schonlein purpura

Henoch-Schonlein purpura is a condition characterized by a widespread necrotizing vasculitis of arterioles and small capillaries.

Classically, children aged 3 to 8 years are affected, boys more than girls,

There are gastrointestinal, joint and renal manifestations.

70% have haematuria and proteinuria, but the glomerulonephritis is often asymptomatic, conferring a good prognosis.
