Breast hypoplasia or absence
One breast may be very much smaller than the other or simply fail to develop. This should be distinguished from a certain normal degree of asymmetry in which the left breast is commonly larger than the right.
In cases of true asymmetry, the smaller breast may be augmented surgically or the larger breast reduced in size.
