Riboflavin is found in:

  • legumes and pulses
  • animal products

Riboflavin deficiency is seen in association with:

  • protein and energy malnutrition
  • alcoholism

The clinical features include:

  • dry mucus membranes, affecting:
    • mouth
    • eyes
    • genitalia
  • normochromic, normocytic anaemia

Treatment is with riboflavin, 6 mg per day.
