Vitamin B2 deficiency
Riboflavin is found in:
- legumes and pulses
- animal products
Riboflavin deficiency is seen in association with:
- protein and energy malnutrition
- alcoholism
The clinical features include:
- dry mucus membranes, affecting:
- mouth
- eyes
- genitalia
- normochromic, normocytic anaemia
Treatment is with riboflavin, 6 mg per day.
