Undisplaced fractures are best treated conservatively by finger strapping and early active exercise.

Displaced fractures are best treated by open reduction and internal fixation with small Kirschner wires. The finger should be immobilised in flexion for a few days and then active movement encouraged - initially, gently and supervised.
