Abbreviations
Don't use abbreviations if it can be avoided, or unless the abbreviation is more well known than its full name. Thus, AIDS might be used, HOCM should be avoided. Similarly the abbreviation ie might be permitted, e.g. is not, and NB is probably best replaced with Note that.
