Sites of obstruction
- aorto-iliac obstruction:
- claudication in both buttocks, thighs and calves
- femoral and distal pulses absent in both limbs
- impotence and Leriche syndrome
- bruit over aorto-iliac region
- iliac obstruction:
- unilateral claudication in thigh and calf, sometimes buttock
- bruit over iliac region
- unilateral absence of femoral and distal pulses
- femoro-popliteal obstruction:
- unilateral claudication in calf
- femoral pulses palpable with absent unilateral distal pulses
- distal obstruction:
- femoral and popliteal pulses palpable
- ankle pulses absent
- claudication in calf and foot
