Oral:

  • 300-800 mg daily in divided doses

Slow intravenous infusion:

  • 2 mg/kg over > 5 min to a maximum of 150 mg
  • ECG monitoring throughout
  • followed by 200 mg orally, repeating the oral dose 8 hourly
