In a study of subjects aged 0-40 years with hereditary long QT syndrome:

  • LQT1 or LQT2 have a high risk of serious cardiac events:
    • LQT1 have a 63% risk
    • LQT2 have a 46% risk
    • LQT3 have an 18% risk

  • among subjects experiencing a cardiac event the mortality for LQT3 patients was highest
