Authoring team

There is variable fertility in individuals affected by this condition. The long term prognosis is mainly determined by the cardiac problems. This may occur in up to 75% of cases and is the most common cause of death for people with the syndrome (1)

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy may resolve, or may become rapidly progressive with a fatal outcome. There is some suggestion of late-onset arrhythmias and congestive cardiac failure (2)
