Complications
Possible complications include:
- stiffness
- growth defects
- osteoporosis
- acute anterior uveitis - this occurs most commonly in pauciarticular juvenile chronic arthritis. If this condition is not treated then it may cause blindness secondary to band keratitis and cataracts. This particular complication is associated with the presence of antinuclear antibodies
- amyloidosis
