Side effects
Adverse reactions include:
- impotence
- decreased libido
- gynaecomastia
- decreased levels of serum prostate-specific antigen; so interfering with the monitoring of prostate carcinoma
Animal studies report abnormalities of male external genitalia in the foetus of treated females. Since the drug has been detected in the semen of patients under treatment, it is recommended that it should not be given to patients whose partner is pregnant or likely to become so.
