  • high incidence areas for the disease include the Middle East, especially the inbred Bedouin populations of Kuwait. Here the incidence is as high as 1 in 13,500
  • incidence of BBS is also high in Newfoundland with the syndrome occurring is 1 in 16,000 individuals
