The head and neck features of Gorlin's Syndrome are highly varied:

  • odontogenic keratocysts:
    • start to appear at an average age of 15 years
    • second most common feature of condition after basal cell carcinoma
    • more frequent in the mandible than the maxilla
    • can be unilateral or bilateral
  • thickneing of the calvarial bones eg in the frontal and parietal areas giving characteristic bossing
  • broad nose
  • hypertelorism
  • rarely, congenital blindness secondary to:
    • cataracts
    • glaucoma
  • microphthalmos
  • coloboma
  • strabismus
