Associated conditions
Other autoimmune disorders associated with the disease include:
- systemic lupus erythematous
- rheumatoid arthritis
- pernicious anaemia
- vitiligo
- type I diabetes mellitus - also some forms of type II diabetes such as LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes of adulthood)
- Grave's disease
- Turner's syndrome - females with Turner's syndrome have a much higher incidence of autoimmune thyroiditis than the general population
