Clinical features
Hyperprolactinaemia in women may present with:
- amenorrhoea, oligomenorrhoea or regular anovulatory cycles (1)
- galactorrhoea
- breast pain
- breast enlargement
- infertility
- hirsutism - there also may be an associated weight gain
- loss of libido
In men hyperprolactinaemia may present with:
- impotence
- loss of libido
- decrease in seminal fluid volume
- galactorrhoea and gynaecomastia can occur
