SOLVED trial

The SOLVED trial was a prospective, randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled study which investigated the effect of withdrawing digoxin from patients with heart failure.

All patients were in sinus rhythm and had stable mild to moderate heart failure treated with diuretics and digoxin.

46 patients were randomised to withdrawal of digoxin and 42 continued with digoxin.
