Endoscopic features
The endoscopic features of ulcerative colitis are:
- the disease is continuous
- the rectum is always involved
- there are no fissures except in fulminating disease
- inflammatory 'pseudo' polyps common and extensive
- the skip lesions seen in Crohn's disease are not present
