Upper small bowel disease
Diseases of the upper small bowel causing diarrhoea include:
- coeliac disease
- Giardiasis
- Whipple's disease
There may be steatorrhoea or a watery stool.
Other complications include:
- iron deficiency
- folate deficiency
- calcium deficiency
