  • air or gas embolism
  • carbon monoxide poisoning
  • clostridial infections - gas gangrene
  • crush injuries and traumatic, acute ischaemias
  • decompression sickness
  • healing of problem wounds
  • osteomyelomyelitis which is refractory
  • thermal burns
