Influence of genetics
There are genetic patterns in the effects of drugs:
- Gaussian distribution, e.g. of serum aspirin
- isoniazid - two populations, slow and fast acetylators. Slow acetylators respond better but exhibit more side effects.
- pseudocholinesterase deficiency - trimodal - normal, heterozygous and homozygous
