The continuation phase of treatment of tuberculosis consists of double therapy for four months:

  • rifampicin

  • isoniazid (with pyridoxine)

·Patients with active meningeal TB should be offered: -

  • isoniazid (with pyridoxine), rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol for 2months
  • then isoniazid (with pyridoxine) and rifampicin for a further 10 months.
  • a glucocorticoid

The summary of product characteristics must be consulted before the aforementioned drugs are prescribed.
