Epithelial ovarian tumours
Epithelial ovarian tumours are classified into:
- serous tumours
- mucinous tumours
- endometrioid carcinoma
- clear cell carcinoma
- Brenner tumour
- undifferentiated carcinoma
The vast majority are benign:
- 60% of serous, 80% of mucinous and over 95% of Brenners
Others are classified as:
- borderline: low-malignant potential, with at least two of: epithelial budding, multi-layered epithelium, mitotic activity or nuclear atypia
- malignant: most endometrioid and clear cell types
