menstrual disturbance:

  • oligomenorrhoea
  • amenorrhoea
  • dysfunctional uterine bleeding

  • anovulatory infertility
  • hirsutism
  • acne
  • male-pattern hair loss
  • acanthosis nigricans may occur - a cutaneous marker of hyperinsulinaemia
  • central obesity
