There is no evidence that sexual intercourse during pregnancy is harmful. However many obstetricians recommend sexual intercourse should be avoided during the first trimester if woman has a history of recurrent miscarriages.
In the third trimester, due to her increased size, the woman may find certain positions for sexual intercourse more comfortable e.g. side-by-side, woman-on-top.
