Indications for exploration of an ovarian cyst
These may include:
Premenarchal patient:
- any cyst larger than 2 cm in diameter
Premenopausal patient:
- any multilocular or solid cyst between 6 - 8 cm diameter
- any cyst greater than 8 cm diameter
- any discrete cyst less than 8 cm which fails to regress after a period of 6 weeks observation
Postmenopausal patient:
- any palpable mass
