Bacterial protein synthesis is a process with many comparative similiarities to eukaryotic protein synthesis, but it uses an entirely different set of enzymes.
Importantly the main ribosomal protein is 70S, comprising 50S and 30S, compared to eukaryotes where the ribosome consists of 80S comprising 60S and 40S.
