The leptospiraemic phase of leptospirosis is characterised by:

  • severe headache
  • fever
  • malaise
  • anorexia
  • myalgia

Suffusion of the conjunctivae occurs in the majority of patients.

Lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, and skin rashes occur infrequently.
