Risks of travelling include:

  • infection
  • sunburn - ultraviolet light
  • drowning
    • children should always be supervised in and near water
    • adults should keep an eye on each other for signs of trouble when in the water
  • diving injuries
  • road accidents are the major cause of death amongst travellers
  • hazardous sports
  • violence - No-Go areas
  • day trips
    • even if you are going on just a day trip to another country, ensure you have adequate travel insurance
    • complete form E111 if you are visiting a European Union country
